Ms. Nancy Patrick

Educational Background

B.A. - Rider University (Elementary Education and Psychology)

Masters in Ed. - Georgian Court University (Concentration in Language Arts and Special Ed.)

Gifted and Talented Certification Program (Rutgers University, ***First Graduating Class)

Ms. Patrick began her teaching career as a 4th grade teacher at the St. Dominic's School in Brick, NJ.  She then made the move to Manasquan School District where she taught high school Psychology for seven years.  But the most important move took place in 2000 when Ms. Patrick decided to come to Hillsborough. Beginning her tenure at the Middle School, she served as a special education teacher and replacement literacy teacher for eight years.  Ms. Patrick finally made her way to ARIS and has been with us for the last ten years having worked as a grade six literacy, social studies and REACH teacher.

Ms. Patrick has been and continues to be an integral member of the ARIS community.  In the past she served on such committees as: The District Evaluation and Assessment Committee (DEAC), Grading Task Force, Strategic Planning, School Technology, and also served as a Chromebook Pilot Classroom.  Ms. Patrick is currently involved as member of the School Improvement Panel (ScIP), District Mentor Committee, ARIS WIN Pilot Committee, and also our building’s Sunshine Executive Committee. Additionally, Ms. Patrick serves as the co-advisor to three popular clubs at ARIS:  National History Day Project, Geography Bee, and ARIS Goes Green. In fact, Ms. Patrick has helped to present two of those clubs in recent years at our annual “Superintendent’s Spotlight on Students” presentation to the Board of Education.

It is also important to note the work that Ms. Patrick does to help others “outside” of the classroom.  Something that Ms. Patrick is very proud of is how she and her teammates have embraced a campaign to help raise funds for the HEA’s Childrens Philanthropic Fund.  Through these efforts over the last five years, monies totaling over $4000 have been donated to help students and families in need.   In fact, a quote from a colleague of Ms. Patrick’s wrote in her nomination this year:  “On numerous occasions, I have witnessed Ms. Patrick’s compassion toward colleagues, lending a helping hand when people are ill, or out for extended time.  Ms. Patrick extends that same compassion to her students, providing for them with needs outside of the classroom.”

On behalf of the entire ARIS community we are so proud to have you represent our school as OUR Teacher of the Year.  Thank you for all you do to inspire the very best in your students and our staff each and every day!
