Ms. Townsend joined ARIS in 2018 and has served the last three years as a special education math teacher working in both co-teaching and replacement settings.

Ms. Townsend has quickly earned a reputation as as a quiet force in the building, and a teacher who

conducts her work with such grace and skill. She is extremely knowledgeable in her approach toward meeting her students needs through scaffolding, modeling, and interpersonal connections, as well as by working collaboratively with colleagues to provide targeted instruction and assessments.  While being extremely supportive, she is able to challenge her students to make sure they do their best and they reach their potential - even when they do not believe in themselves.

ARIS is proud to recognize Ms. Townsend as its 2021 Teacher of the Year!

“She  is very helpful, supportive, and patient. She takes her job seriously and is a great spirit to have in the class.” ~ ARIS Student
