Welcome from the
Auten Road School Home & School Association (ARSHSA)
The Executive Board of the Auten Road School Home and School Association (ARSHSA) would like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year at Auten Road Intermediate School (ARIS).
ARSHSA is made up of ARIS parents, staff and administrators. The purpose of ARSHSA is to promote the general well-being of ARIS children, as well as promote a closer relationship between the home and school so that parents and teachers may cooperate in the educational, social, and recreational development of the students. ARSHSA also provides funds and other resources to ARIS to enhance educational opportunities.
ARSHSA’S annual budget averages $30,000. These funds are used to provide:4 Assemblies, Coding Clubs, Family Fun Events, 5th Grade T-Shirts, 6th Grade Cinch Sacks, Staff Appreciation Events, Staff Grants and the End of Year Carnival. In 2015-2016 ARSHSA was also able to fund 2 additional assemblies, a Choir Club, painting the Library, Girl Scout Projects (Planted shrubs by the front door and a new Lost and Found storage unit installed), and an Eagle Scout Project (Paver walkway in the back).
It is through ARSHSA’s fundraising efforts that all of this is possible. Please show your support by participating in the various product fundraisers that will be offered throughout the year such as the Membership Drive (Friend Finder), ARIS/HMS Discount Card, KidStuff Coupon Books, Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, Scholastic Book Fairs and/or by donating through the “Invest in Your Child” program (see under Forms).
Our success as an association can only be accomplished through the hard work of our volunteers. One of ARSHSA’S biggest events that could use volunteers, is the S.T.E.M. Summit that is scheduled for 2/18/2017.
See ARSHSA’S Committees/Chairpersons page for a complete listing of committees and their chairpersons. Please contact a chairperson if you are interested in joining a committee.
Also, be sure to join ARSHSA by filling out the Friend Finder/Membership form that you can find on Community Pass and in your ARSHSA Welcome Packet. Packets will be sent home via email and backpack soon after the first day of school. Many program registrations/payments will be available to be completed via Community Pass.
Please try and attend this year’s ARSHSA meetings. All parents are welcome to join the Board and Mr. Carey, ARIS principal, at this year’s HSA meetings.
Meetings will be held in the ARIS Library/Media Center 7:30-8:30 pm on the following dates: Oct.5, Dec.7, Feb. 1, April 4 & June 7.
We are looking forward to a great year!
